Ice-T has shouted out Ultramagnetic MCs on records and in the press for years; thus it's not surprising that the O.G. hooked up with Kool Keith in the Analog Brothers. Ice assumes the alias Ice Oscillator while Keith adds Keith Korg to his long list of personas (Black Elvis, Dr.Octagon, Dr. Dooom). It's not surprising to see Rex Roland either -- he worked with Keith on his porno-fueled Sex Style album and sang the hook on Ice's seminal 1988 single "I'm Your Pusher." Mark Moog and Silver Synth also bring their considerable talents to the table. The "analog" in Analog Brothers refers to the group's old-school sounds of the future; Moogs and 808 and 909 drum machines are the instruments of choice, all recorded in Rex Roland's analog studio. Analog Brothers have a sound and flavor all their own, even different than other "pimp"-styled acts like Too Short and UGK. In other words, the trademark eccentricity of a Kool Keith project is present in abundance. "2005" was the first single off the group's debut LP Pimp to Eat. ~ Matthew KantorPortions of Content Provided by Rovi Corporation.
