Mixing post-punk glamour and gloom with tribal-tinged beats, New York's Apache Beat formed in 2006. Vocalist Ilirjana Alusaj, guitarist Phillip Aceto, bassist Michael Dossantos, keyboardist Christina Aceto, and drummer Neil Westgate released their debut single "Tropics" as a limited-edition 7" in fall 2007. They followed it with spring 2008's "Blood Thrills" single and toured with likeminded acts such as Crystal Castles, the Long Blondes and These New Puritans. Apache Beat was named one of the best acts of CMJ 2008 by NME Magazine; that fall they re-released "Tropics" and continued to work on their full-length debut, collaborating with producer Martin Bisi in his Brooklyn studio. ~ Heather PharesPortions of Content Provided by Rovi Corporation.
