Able to effortlessly transition from a verse filled with hardcore rap to a hooky pop chorus, rapper/singer Becky G worked alongside artists like Cody Simpson and Ke$ha before breaking out with a solo career. Born and raised in Inglewood, California, Rebecca Marie Gomez became Becky G in 2011 when she uploaded cover versions of Kanye West and Jay-Z's "Otis" and Frank Ocean's "Novacane" to video-sharing services. The year 2012 saw her release the mixtape @itsbeckygomez and join Cody Simpson on his single "Wish U Were Here." By the end of the year she appeared on the remix of Ke$ha's single "Die Young," while her own single, "Becky from the Block," landed in 2013 alongside her EP Play It Again. ~ David JeffriesPortions of Content Provided by Rovi Corporation.
