Brian was the alias of Dublin-born, London-based indie popster Ken Sweeney, who first surfaced in 1989 with the single "A Million Miles"; the follow-up, "You Don't Want a Boyfriend," was two years in forthcoming, and after releasing the Setanta full-length Understand in 1992, he spent the better part of the decade on the sidelines, working a day job and dismissing the material he wrote in the interim as insufficient for release. The second Brian album, the acclaimed Bring Trouble, finally appeared in 1999. ~ Jason Ankeny
