Brian "Head" Welch was born June 19, 1970, and grew up in Bakersfield, CA. He began playing guitar at the age of 11. He was a founding member of the alternative metal band Korn, with which he made the albums Korn (1994), Life Is Peachy (1996), Follow the Leader (1998), Issues (1999), Untouchables (2002), and Take a Look in the Mirror (2003).
