Fronting an exciting mixture of jazz, pop, and Latin, Bucho took its place among the up and coming bands on the Northern California scene in the post-millennium. The nucleolus of the band was formed when singer Gerald Pease met percussionist Derek Taylor. Taylor, meanwhile, had gone to school with bassist Josh Lippi and trumpeter Leon Moore. Along the way, organist Ben Schwier, trumpeter Anthony Coleman, saxophonist Roger Cox, and trumpeter Justin Williams also joined the group.
