Cass Phang was one of Cantopop's biggest stars of the 1990s. As her star rose ever higher, she crossed over to the Mandopop scene and released Cantonese as well as Mandarin-language albums from the mid-'90s until her eventual retirement from the pop music industry in 2002. Born in Hong Kong on February 2, 1969, she made her recording debut in 1990 on Rock in Records. A year later she scored her first smash hit with the song "I'll Wait Regardless I Was Hurt" from the album Somewhere in Time (1991). The hits continued for Phang in subsequent years as she recorded albums for both EMI (1993-1998) and Sony Music (1998-2002). ~ Jason BirchmeierPortions of Content Provided by Rovi Corporation.
