Vocalist, bassist, and guitarist Curtis Young has earned the name "Mr. Harmony" from many of those in the music world. A Tennessee native, Young landed his first real music job around 1960, appearing on Knoxville's Tennessee Barn Dance. To support himself during those early years, he worked as a cameraman for a local television station. He also became lead singer for a band known as the Kountry Kings, performing with the group on the weekends. Young started the '70s off in Nashville. He found work as a singer and bassist for the Coopers and then moved into session work. His skills with the bass, guitar, and vocals landed him gig after gig. Wanting more, he tried commercials for television and radio and then cut a demo theme song for the movie Jory, starring Robby Benson and John Marley. In 1979 Young became a member of the Willis Trio.
