A party DJ since the '80s, Seaman became the editor of Mixmag, transforming it from a newsletter for DJs to a popular magazine covering the burgeoning acid house and rave scenes. The initial volume of the magazine's mix series, a mixtape by Seaman and Carl Cox, is considered to be the first legal, commercially released DJ mix.
