Demander

Founded by vocalist/bassist Karen Kanan Corrêa and drummer Sivan Harlap -- both former members of the Hissyfits -- Demander traffics in the same indie rock circle as Sleater-Kinney and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The group took shape in New York City in 2005, with guitarist Jared Scott rounding out the co-ed lineup. After releasing a self-titled EP, Demander increased its public profile by touring alongside bands like the Hold Steady, Morningwood, and the Giraffes.
