Bio Full Biography »
An L.A. and Fort Worth-based psych rock outfit, Epic Ruins began as almost more of a production ensemble than a typical band. Formed by Jordan Richardson, Steve Steward, Sam Anderson, and Jeff Dazey, all of whom have Fort Worth, Texas ties, the group began when Richardson and Steward started brainstorming an epic fantasy story to be told in classic 1970s prog rock style. The pair developed the story line, wrote songs to push it along, and created an elaborate stage show full of lights and lasers to put it across live, creating, in essence, a kind of comic book-influenced version of Texas space rock. A studio version of the opus, The Void Mariner and the Mystic Boogie of the Sacred Line, appeared on LP in early 2011 on the conglomerate’s own Wizardvision imprint. Perhaps more of an art project than a typical rock band, the group next moved ahead with plans to turn the LP into a movie. ~ Steve Leggett
