Eddy Lover is a Panamanian reggae singer who rose to international fame with his guest appearance on La Factor+¡a's 2006 smash hit "Perd+¦name." Born Eduardo Mosquera on March 16, 1985, in Panama City, Panama, Eddy Lover is often compared to Flex (aka Nigga), a fellow Panamanian reggae singer who scored a massive hit in 2008 with "Te Quiero." Both artists exemplify the emerging Panamanian reggae style (aka reggae paname+¦o), which is a tropical-inflected style of reggaet+¦n generally sung romantically. Included originally on the La Factor+¡a album Nuevas Metas (2006), "Perd+¦name" was popular throughout 2007, especially in the Caribbean region, and Eddy Lover's memorable guest appearance in the song led to a major-label solo recording contract with Universal Latino's urban division, Machete Music. Perd+¦name (2008) marked Eddy Lover's full-length solo debut, featuring not only the title track but also the hit singles "Luna" and "No Debiste Volver." ~ Jason BirchmeierPortions of Content Provided by Rovi Corporation.
