Ex Deo is a Canadian symphonic death metal band known for its immersive soundscapes and thematic focus on the history of the Roman Empire. Founded by Kataklysm frontman Maurizio Iacono in 2008, the group has released four acclaimed albums, including 2012's Juno Award-nominated Caligvla and 2021's epic The Thirteen Years of Nero. In 2025, Ex Deo took on the tumultuous year 69 AD on the EP Year of the Four Emperors.
