Originally starting as a three-piece outfit featuring two brothers and a cousin, Facade decided to add guitarists for a richer sound. Near April Fools Day of 1998, the band added guitarists and high school friends Sean Humphries and Brandon Green. The group performed around Pickering and Toronto, becoming known for an energetic live show. The band also performed and won various battle of the band competitions.
