Frenchie Davis
PLAY STATIONBiography
Vocalist Frenchie Davis rose to notoriety (if not quite fame) when she was unceremoniously booted from the American Idol cast in 2003, having been disqualified after topless photos of her younger self appeared on the Internet. Undaunted, Davis bounced back by refashioning herself as a Broadway star. She joined the cast of Rent that same year and remained with the show until May 2007, singing the powerful solo during "Seasons of Love" and intermittently playing the role of Joanne. In 2008, she joined R&B vocalist Ruben Studdard (who won the American Idol competition from which Davis had been ejected) in a national tour of Ain't Misbehavin'. ~ Andrew Leahey
