Gilbert Kaplan

Gilbert Kaplan was an American conductor whose late-blooming musical career was almost entirely devoted to performances of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 2 in C minor, "Resurrection." A businessman by profession, he was the founder and publisher of the magazine Institutional Investor, which he edited until 1993. He also established the Kaplan Foundation, which is involved in research for a critical edition of Mahler's Second Symphony. Kaplan made his first appearance as a conductor in 1982.
