Highway 9 was formed in Ashbury Park, NJ, where musicians like Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi had come before them. They had previously played together in a band called Mr. Reality, then again in the late '90s in a band called Samhill. Samhill was in fact the name they went under even when they signed with Epic, until they realized that there was another band using that name. They immediately changed their name to Highway 9 and accordingly rounded out their sound in time for their first recording sessions. Producer Peter Collins was enlisted for recording duties on their eponymous debut album, released by Sony in 2001. What In the Samhill? appeared the next year. ~ Bradley TorreanoPortions of Content Provided by Rovi Corporation.
