This US group was founded by Randy Bachman, formerly the leader of the Canadian rock group Bachman-Turner Overdrive. The initial line-up comprised Bachman (b. 27 September 1943, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; guitar, vocals), John Pierce (bass), Tom Sparks (guitar, vocals) and Mike Baird (drums). They enjoyed a US Top 40 hit in 1979 with ‘Sweet Lui-Louise’ and by the time the second album was recorded, the line-up had undergone several alterations, with Ron Foos and Chris Leighton replacing Pierce and Baird, respectively. This largely undistinguished outfit recorded one further album, the title of which neatly summarized the attitude of their critics.Portions of Content Provided by Rovi Corporation.
