Spearheaded by former For the Fallen Dreams vocalist Chad Ruhlig, Legend are a deathcore band based out of Detroit, Michigan. With a sound that merges the brutality of death metal with the intensity of hardcore, the band crushes listeners with a savage assault of detuned guitar and thundering drums, bowling them over with heavy riffs before letting loose with a cathartic breakdown. While the band initially had a bit of a carousel of members, Ruhlig eventually solidified the lineup with guitarist Aaron Bagby, bassist Matty Harrah, and drummer Dylan Schippey. Based on the strength of its demo, the band signed on with Rise Records, and in 2010 made its debut with Valediction. In 2011, Legend followed up quickly with their second album, Pale Horse. ~ Gregory Heaney
