Lymie Murray

b. Paul Murray, Manchester, Jamaica, West Indies. Murray was raised in the town of Royal Flat where his mother was a deaconess in the church and influenced his earliest musical aspirations. His pseudonym was adopted after an incident during his schooldays when he and a few colleagues decided to help themselves to fruit from a neighbouring orchard. The incursion was thwarted and when asked his name Murray falsely identified himself as Lymon, which later became Lymie.
