M3, also known as Música Movimento Magia, are a Portuguese teen pop trio comprised of actresses formerly associated with the popular television series Morangos com Açúcar. The trio is comprised of Maria (born Maria Sampaio), Mafalda (born Mafalda Teixeira), and Pipa (born Filipa Baptista). Maria played the role of Liliana in the second season of Morangos com Açúcar, while Mafalda played the role of Patrícia in the fourth season. The three women made their commercial recording debut as M3 in 2008 with the album Viva o Verão on the NZ Produções label in association with Sony BMG. Featuring the promotional single "O Verão Já Chegou," Viva o Verão reached number six on the Portuguese albums chart. Released later in the year, the follow-up album Se uma Estrela Passar (2008) proved less successful. Like its predecessor, it was a ten-song mini-album comprised of five songs, plus instrumental "karaoke" versions. ~ Jason Birchmeier
