Before her debut album, Soul Makeover, Nicole Willis gained experience in the music industry through performing guest and background vocals for a diverse list of artists, including Deee-Lite, The The, and Leftfield. More significantly, she was a member of Repercussions, an early Mo Wax outfit that debuted in 1992 and released an album for Warner Bros. in 1995. In October 2000, she released her solo debut, the downtempo/house/contemporary R&B-oriented Soul Makeover, co-produced alongside Maurice Fulton and husband Jimi Tenor. After 2004's similar Be It, she teamed up with Finland's Soul Investigators for a pair of albums -- 2005's Keep Reachin' Up and 2013's Tortured Soul -- that were deeply rooted in traditional soul. ~ Diana PottsPortions of Content Provided by Rovi Corporation.
