Drawing from the slick sound of 1980s dance-pop acts like Nu Shooz and Prince (and in the process sounding a lot like contemporaneous acts like Junior Senior and Alphabeat), O'Spada formed in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2006 primarily as a vehicle for vocalist Julie Spada (aka O'Julie); rounding out the group's original lineup were keyboardist O'Chris, guitarist O'Karl, bassist O'Johan, and drummer O'Samuel.
