Born outside of Cleveland, Ohio as an after school project for members Alex (vocals/guitar), Brian (bass), Chris (drums) and Damien (guitar), Red Giant gave their best ode to Hawkwind when they got together in 1990. On top of their own brand of jazz, metal, punk and psychedelic influences, the band would spend the next five year playing around the Mid-West with some of their heroes, including Overkill, Zen Guerrilla, Mule and Voivod before releasing Psychoblaster & the Misuse of Power; a 9 song EP that clocking in at 75 minutes. Three years later, Red Giant's follow-up album Ultra Magnetic Glowing Sound was released in 1998. ~ Mike DaRonco
