    b. 22 February 1903, Baltimore, Maryland, USA, d. 9 July 1972, Walnut Creek, California, USA. After training to be a singer, from the late 30s Weede sang with the New York Metropolitan Opera Company. His fluid baritone singing voice attracted the attention of Broadway producers and in the mid-50s he was lured away from grand opera.
