Bio Full Biography »

Richmond, Virginia-based indie popster Scott Brookman began home recording during the 1980s while still in junior high school, working both on solo projects and on material by his first band, the Poisonous Sewer Fish. Later a member of the little-known Apes of Wrath, Brookman eventually began writing his first original songs, and as a solo performer issued a series of self-released cassettes during the late 1980s and early 1990s, among them Bonaparte, Hot Enough to Fry Your Dog's Brain, frozenrawheadless, In My Own Backyard, Tool for the Man, It's More Than a Hobby and A National Treasure. In 1997 he issued the seven-inch EP The Busy World of Scott Brookman on Twee Kitten; The Man From Operations (and three others) followed a year later. Brookman returned in early 2000 with For Those Who Like Pop. ~ Jason Ankeny
