Pianist Scott Hitzik was a child prodigy, composing and improvising at age 5, recording by age 13, and touring Europe while still in high school. Hitzik parlayed this early start into scoring and composition studies at Oberlin College, which led him to advanced work at the U.S.C. Advanced Studies Program in Los Angeles. At U.S.C., he studied with prominent composers like Academy Award Winner Jerry Goldsmith, who wrote the scores for Mulan, The Omen, and Chinatown, and David Raskin, the composer of Laura. Hitzik's work includes music for General Hospital, teaching piano, performing, and producing shows at venues like the Jazz Bakery, and his 1999 album Celtic Nocturnes. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
