Named after the Rolling Stones' album Goats Head Soup, Sopa de Cabra are considered one of the pioneers of the Rock Catala movement. Previously of Ninyin's Mine Workers Union Band, guitarist Joan "Ninyin" Cardona and bassist Francesc "Cuco" Lisicic teamed up with frontman Gerard Quintana, guitarist Josep Thio and drummer Josep "Pep" Bosch to form the band in 1986.
