As a house producer for the legendary SST label, Spot helmed some of the most influential underground recordings of the 1980s, including material from Black Flag (1981's landmark Damaged, 1984's Family Man), the Minutemen (Buzz or Howl Under the Influence of Heat and What Makes a Man Start Fires?, both from 1983), Hüsker Dü (1983's Metal Circus) and the Meat Puppets (their first two self-titled efforts). ~ Jason Ankeny
