Falling somewhere between Feist and the Cardigans, Sweden’s Standfast are a two-piece band featuring vocalist Suzanne Standfast and guitarist Patrick Tucker aka Patrick Standfast. Their self-titled debut album appeared in 2001 on the EMI label and featured the single “Carcrashes.” The single would be released in 20 countries across Europe, sending the band on a support tour that would last for years. A new album would be delayed until 2007 when Beneath and Beyond appeared on the group’s own SideCho label. In 2009, the album would be re-released in America on the label Cheap Lullaby. ~ David Jeffries
