Rebellious and nasty, the Blood Brothers defined their own punk-soaked angst rock when they came together in 1997. Jordan Blilie (vocals), Johnny Whitney (vocals), Waxwing's Cody Votolato (guitar), Morgan Henderson (bass), and Mark Gajadhar (drums) all hail from Seattle; they've shared the stage with Pretty Girls Make Graves and the like. The Blood Brothers' debut album, This Adultery Is Ripe, was released in 2000. It was a rough-edged, sour set of songs and the press immediately praised the Blood Brothers' scowl at mainstream society. March on Electric Children, which appeared in 2001, continued on with the Blood Brothers' spastic presentation. ARTISTdirect was quite impressed, and offered the band a deal the following year; shortly thereafter, the angry five-piece issued its most cohesive material to date with Burn Piano Island, Burn.
