Truly was founded in 1990 by a trio of former Seattle grunge players -- Soundgarden bassist Hiro Yamamoto, Screaming Trees drummer Mark Pickerel, and vocalist/guitarist Robert Roth (from the Storybook Krooks). The group played their first show supporting the Jesus Lizard at a Seattle date in October 1990, and recorded the EP Heart and Lungs for Sub Pop in 1991. The label has also issued two albums by Truly. ~ John Bush
