Chris & Carla are an offshoot of the Seattle folk-punk unit the Walkabouts, featuring the band's singer/songwriters Chris Eckman and Carla Torgerson. An acoustic, folk-based project, the Chris & Carla duo debuted in 1993 with Shelter for an Evening, a live collection recorded in Germany. Two years later, the pair resurfaced with Life Full of Holes, a studio LP cut with R.E.M.'s Peter Buck and members of Britain's Tindersticks.
