Even in a scene rife with prolific artists, Ellen Allien, the German DJ and producer who founded the BPitch control label in 1999, is notable for her unflagging work ethic and a remarkably consistent body of work. Since her 2001 full-length debut, Stadtkind, Allien has released a formidable number of LPs, 12-inches, mixtapes, and remix projects, all boasting her distinctive blend of brooding minimalism and hushed, house-influenced drum programming.
