Jamaica Papa Curvin

A well traveled and well respected Germany-based, Jamaica born reggae musician, Jamaica "Papa" Curvin was born in Harewood, Jamaica in 1943. He began playing reggae percussion as a child, and he formed the band Volcanoes in his late teens. The band won hearts and minds, but eventually the band folded, and in 1965 Curvin starts the group Bamboos of Jamaica, which played most of its gigs on cruise ships.
