French conductor and violinist Ludovic Morlot is primarily known for specializing in contemporary music. In childhood, he studied the violin, but after attending the Royal Academy of Music in London, he took up conducting. He also pursued courses at the Royal College of Music and the Pierre Monteux School and studied conducting at Tanglewood on a fellowship.
