Accomplished pianist, accompanied many of the biggest stars of the Golden Age of Brazilian song, both live and in recordings. Nonô also recorded solo albums, was Noel Rosa's partner (as a composer), and was recorded by many stars, including Rosa himself. Nonô was from a musical family from which his nephews Ciro Monteiro, Moacir Peixoto, Araquém Peixoto, and Caubi Peixoto were born. At nine he was already a professional pianist.
