Poulain was the project of singer/guitarist Isaac Lekach, a Miami-based songwriter who'd previously played with the twee pop group Buddy System. In 2002, he debuted the wispy indie pop sound of Poulain on the EP With Fingers Crossed (Soft Spot), and followed that release a year later with the For Passengers EP (Fiddler). For Passengers was more of the same acoustic-based, chiming twee, and featured the angelic supporting vocals of Seevenus' Rocky Ordoñez.
