Red Bandit

This US rapper first came to prominence with the release of ‘I'm Back' in 1990, an answer song to Lisa Stansfield's ‘All Around The World'. Featuring a strong hook sung by the song's producer, Dr Freeze, alongside samples of Stansfield's hit, it became a cult item on British and USA radio. When an album emerged it offered two sides to Red Bandit's craft, the sensitive lover mode embodied by the title track, and a ‘dance' side, the former featuring additional accompaniment from Bell Biv DeVoe's Ricky Bell.
