The Gymslips

This east London post-punk all-female trio was formed in 1982 by Paula Richards (b. 1 August 1963, Kent, England; guitar/vocals), Suzanne Scott (bass/vocals) and Karen Yarnell (b. 2 April 1961; drums/vocals), who were joined on some live performances by Kathy Barnes (keyboards). The effervescent group recorded the classic tribute to alcoholic revelry, ‘The Drinking Song', among other less notable misdemeanours.
