Biography
A four-piece ensemble based in Chicago, Third Coast Percussion concentrates on contemporary American repertoire for percussion. They have made premiere recordings of commissioned works by the likes of Philip Glass and Augusta Read Thomas as well as their own original compositions. After building a reputation early on for their lively, virtuosic performances, they made their recording debut in 2008 with Ritual Music, which was composed by member David Skidmore. The group won a Grammy in 2017 for their sixth album, Third Coast Percussion & Steve Reich. ~ Marcy Donelson
