Born in Japan in 1967 and currently based in Tokyo, Yoshio Machida describes himself as a trans-boundary sound and visual artist. He studied music and minimalist and cinematic arts at the Tama Art University, where his mentors were Kuniharu Akiyama, Sakumi Hagiwara, Kishio Suga, and Yoshiaki Touno.
