Welcome To Your Tape: Selena Gomez Announces 'Revival' Re-Release On Cassette

As the executive producer of "13 Reasons Why," Selena Gomez is capitalizing off the popularity of the hit Netflix series, which was just renewed for a second season, with the re-release of her 2015 LP, Revival, on cassette.

Team Gomez announced the release on Monday (May 8), revealing that the limited edition tape, which features a slightly shortened take on the original track list, is available for pre-order and set to arrive on June 23. Missing from the re-release is Gomez's cover of Yazoo's 1982 hit "Only You" which she recorded for the show as well as a delicate rendition of her single "Kill Em With Kindness." In case you haven't seen the show, "13 Reasons Why" follows a group of high school students, who are faced with the aftermath of their classmate Hannah Baker's suicide. Each of the episodes chronicles a different character's wrongdoing, which contributed to Baker taking her own life. It's a serious subject matter, which has faced major controversy, and Gomez's cassette re-release pairs well with that kind of negative press, considering it combines the sensitive storyline with a marketing campaign.
