Former President Barack Obama congratulated Chance The Rapper via video at his free concert in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday (Aug. 12).

Chance was serving as the grand marshal of the Bud Billiken Parade, which is the oldest and largest African-American parade in the United States. Known by his hometown peers for his community service efforts to help the inner-city children of Chi-Town, there really wasn't a better person to do the job.

Obama agreed with this, as well. So, in a previously-recorded video that Chance played on his concert stage after the Bud Billiken Parade ended, the former prez/former Illinois senator praised the recording artist. "I wanted to just have the chance to say to all of you that the Bud Billiken parade stands for so much of what our community is about," Obama started the clip.

He continued, "I am hopeful that everybody who is at the concert today, everybody who is getting involved, everybody who's been part of the parade, that all of you are in the mindset that you could do anything that you want to as long as you put your mind to it." Take a look at it below.

Chance invited special guests onstage at his concert including Future and Jeremih. He also continued the good deeds for his city and handed out 30,000 backpacks full of school supplies to kids. You gotta love this guy!
