On Thursday (September 14), Selena Gomez revealed that she underwent a kidney transplant due to her Lupus and it sounds like her boyfriend The Weeknd scheduled his performances around the pop star's surgery.

After it was revealed that Gomez's friend/actress Francia Raisa made the brave decision to give her the organ, PEOPLE reported that Abel scheduled performances around her medical emergency. "It was a super serious operation and all her friends were worried," the source exclusively told the outlet.

If you take a look at The Weeknd's dates for his "Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour," he was in between shows between July 22 and August 6, and once again until September 6. He also cancelled a Grey Goose-sponsored event on August 26 and appeared as a no-show during the 2017 MTV VMA, where he was scheduled to perform.

During Gomez's Instagram post, the pop titan made the brave revelation, writing, "I'm very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of,” Gomez captioned an Instagram post. “So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health."

I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health. I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery. And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis. Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made.
