5 Seconds of Summer is revealing one possible downside to boy band success.
In an interview with Billboard, member Michael Clifford says he recently learned that he'd suffered some hearing loss in his right ear - likely due to the thousands of screaming fans greeting him on a regular basis.
He explains that a doctor told him his ability to hear "high-pitched" sounds has lowered.
The Australian pop-punk group has been touring the U.S. as the opening act for One Direction, and will be be starting their own headlining tour next summer.
