Alabama is on board for the CMA Music Festival. The country group has been added to the opening night lineup for the Nightly Concerts at LP Field on June 5th.
The appearance will mark Alabama's return to the event after nearly 20 years. They last performed at the festival in 1995.
Band members Randy Owen, Jeff Cook, and Teddy Gentry say they're "excited and looking forward" to the show, especially after such a long absence. They explain that for them it's "always been about the fans," and they "realized that the best way to celebrate" their 40th anniversary was to do what they "do best -- play live" for their followers at "the biggest country music festival in the world."
Alabama is joining a Nightly Concerts lineup that also features Tim McGraw, Luke Bryan, and others. The CMA Music Festival is coming up next week, taking place in Nashville from June 5th through the 8th.
