Ariana Grande is dipping her toes back into acting. The Nickelodeon star-turned-pop singer has landed a voice role in the upcoming Weinstein Company-backed animated film Underdogs. "The Wrap" says Ariana has one of the lead roles in the family adventure movie that's expected to hit theaters in April 2015.
Underdogs is being directed by Juan Jose Campanella, who won an Oscar in 2009 for the Spanish-language film The Secret In Their Eyes.
Underdogs revolves around a foosball table that comes to life. Ariana will play the female lead opposite hero Matthew Morrison and villain Nicholas Hoult. Katie Holmes and "Saturday Night Live" stars Taran Killam and Bobby Moynihan are also part of the voice cast.
