(NEWSER) – Green Day wants to be able to say welcome to paradise to people beyond my generation. That's why sweet children Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt are waving good riddance to wasteful coffee containers in favor of compostable ones, Modern Farmer reports.

“I’ve been drinking coffee all these years, I looked at the coffee bags and realized they’re all landfill,” the Financial Times quotes bassist Dirnt. “It was astonishing to me." That's why Dirnt and guitarist Armstrong are coming clean about the launch of their new company, Oakland Coffee Works, this month. Taking a long view on pollution, Oakland Coffee Company will seek to be the best thing in town by selling coffee pods and bags that can composted with food waste.
