There’s "Something In The Water," and that something is MONEY.
The country music sweetheart earned most of her dough from performing (she commands six-figures a night when on the road), as well as from her lucrative starring role in NBC’s The Sound of Music: Live!. Carrie also has a couple of endorsement deals, including OPI nail polish and beauty brand Almay.
Trailing behind Carrie is the original Idol Kelly Clarkson, who earned a tidy $8 million. Kelly made a nice chunk of her change from her successful Christmas album Wrapped In Red, which sold about 900,000 copies worldwide, as well as touring and music royalties.
Hicks has often been considered one of Idol’s least successful alums alongside names like Justin Guarini and Lee Dewyze, but the 38-year-old was able to rake in $3.5 million with a successful Vegas residency show and income from a restaurant he owns.
Surprisingly low on the list is Adam Lambert, who only pulled in $2.5 million despite being one of the biggest stars to ever come out of the Idol franchise. However, Forbes predicts that the glam rocker will rocket up the list next year once all the cheques from his world tour with Queen come in.
